The Song I'm Obsessed With Right Now: Firework by Katy Perry

OK so anyone else check her out on The X Factor tonight?! She was awesome. I have had this huge crush and fondness for Katy Perry now that hasn't disappeared for ages. I loved her 'California Gurls' single and then when 'Teenage Dream' dropped I was in love from the word go (Or as the case is from the words 'You make me feel like I'm living a teenage dream ...') but now I'm even more in love. Firework is such a major track! It's so upbeat and happy and I saw the trailer/sneak peek for the video on the 15th and it's set to be an amazing video! Of course I've loved Katy since her 'I kissed A Girl' and 'Hot And Cold' days but her new stuff is amazing! I don't know whats happened to her but she is better now than ever, and I get the sense that she's only just getting warmed up!

Cherly Vs. Nadine

OK, so neither of these ladies are my particular type of music (neither are at all Punk and/or disorderly) but I appreciate their music all the same, I also thought they deserved some attention due to their current situation. So it's the battle of Cheryl Cole and Nadine Coyle, who else saw that one coming? Oh yes that's right everyone! So both are members of the UK's biggest girl band since the Spice Girls and One (Cheryl) is the Uk's sweetheart.

Everyone knows her as the newest judge on Xfactor and form all of the shampoo (is it Elvive??) and hairspray adverts and of course she is also known for already having had a sell-out debut album (Produced by Will.I.Am) which she has released several singles from; Fight For This Love, 3 Words and Parachute, but she’s now also released her new single: Promise this (which wasn't featured on her album) and it is this single that is currently locked in battle with her old band mate and friends debut single Insatiable.

Insatiable is Nadine Coyles' attempt at following in the footsteps of old friend Cheryl and carving her own solo career. However Nadine doesn't have anywhere near the amount of exposure over here as Cheryl gets. So how will Nadine fair in comparison? Well many people claim that Nadine was the one that could actually sing. However I think all the Girls Aloud girls could sing well and to all those that say 'Cheryl is an awful singer’ let’s be honest no she isn't! She's not the best admittedly but she can sing, she had to prove that she could sing to get in the band in the first place if you remember! Also she is so hugely popular now that her fans would lap up anything she releases anyway. And she has a great personality. We've all seen how kind and caring she can be on the Xfactor. She has the personality and I think that may be Nadines downfall. No-one really knows Nadine or knows what she's like. I'm thinking most of her single sales will come from the Girls Aloud fan base ...

Upon listening to both the tracks and checking out both of the videos; I have to say that for me Cheryl wins hands down! Her new track is so catchy and is actually a really decent track and the video is interesting, imaginative and she looks great all throughout. However Nadines song is boring in comparison and the music video isn't exactly gripping it's just her walking around with a mic in different places. I'm not that big of a fan of her track but then again I don't represent anyone other than myself. So I wish both girls the best of luck but Cheryl has a special place to me and to many others that no-one else can fill. Check out both tracks; Cheryl Cole - Promise This and Nadine Coyle - Insatiable, see what you think.

I wonder how long it is until all five girls have singles in the charts. What a battle that one would be ...

Spotlight On: Diana Vickers + New Single News

So Diana Vickers has decided to release a previously unheard track as her third single (following the success of her first two singles; 'Once' and 'The Boy Who Murdered Love') the title of this track is 'My Wicked Heart' and cannot be found on her debut album 'Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree'. It is to be released digitally on the 7th November. The new single will also be available on the re-released (with new packaging) version of her album which will include further unheard tracks (to be released early 2011).

I've been a fan of Diana ever since her days on The X Factor. I think she is adorable and her voice phenomenal and hypnotising. I love her kooky little ways and my favourite tracks off of her album are 'My Hip' (did you know that is actually her playing the trumpet, I know right, more than just a pretty face, great voice, brilliant fashion sense, great body ... I could go on ... but the trumpet thing is way cool right?!), N.U.M.B, Hit, Chasing You, the leaked promo track that I got as a free download off her website months before her album 'Jumping Into Rivers' which was also included on the album, obviously the two singles she has released and my total favourite which I’d love her to release as a single 'You'll Never Get To Heaven'. I think she could have so much fun with the music video and, on the subject of her music videos aren’t they just ace! In Once she looks SO hot and really kicks ass and it The Boy Who Murdered Love I love her use of artsy scenery. You don't see that enough in music videos!

Anyhow that is all for now. This was going to be just the news about her new single but I got carried away and ended up doing a full review as I love her lots!! So guys check out her Album ‘Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree’ on iTunes!
