New Music Video: Katy Perry - Firework

OK so the music video for Katy Perry's Firework is finally out and it is, without a doubt, fantastic! I've thought for a while now that Katy is getting better and better. I don't know if it is the fact that she is finally finding out what she wants form the musical scene or whether she is now more comfortable in her own skin and style or even if it's her relationship with Russell Brand that has made her so different. But either way I am LOVING this new Katy. She is fantastic, shes never looked or sounded so good. She seems healthy and happy and it's all reflected in her music. Her latest album 'Teenage Dream' is amazing.

Going back to the music video for 'Firework'. This video tackles so many issues that are relevant to today's everyday struggles. It looks at domestic issues, It looks at the stigma attached to illness, It looks at low self esteem issues and also homosexuality. It shows through the lyrics and through the 'fireworks' that sparkle within each of the main protagonists within the video that we all have a spark within us. Katy's message that she projects so perfectly within this song is one of hope. Every character within the video had a situation before them in which they didn't know what to do. They each decided originally to do nothing, to stay quiet, keep their decisions to themselves. But the spark within them made them decide to go ahead and do what they really wanted to do. This is such a great message for any ones life. Do what you can while you can. Don't be scared. You DO have a spark inside of you. Go for it grab at life!

From the outfits to the messages, from Katy looking absolutely beautiful all the way through to the fireworks and the happiness everything about this video is perfect. Katy has really outdone herself this time.

Song's I'm Obsessed With At The Moment (All Of Which Featured In The 'One Tree Hill' Season 8 Premier)

OK so I watched the premier of One Tree Hill season 8 last night (The episode was called Asleep At Heavens Gate). It was fantastic as always Mark Schwan is a absolute legend, and what makes me love One Tree Hill the most, besides of course all of the fantastic characters and great strory lines is the phenomenal soundtrack. The show is so heavily music based and I end up downloading like 3 or 4 songs that are featured in each episode. The music truly is fantastic and the songs that I'm loving right now were featured on last nights episode (8x01) and they have been on repeat on my iPod since I got them.

They are; The Search by Setting Fires; such a happy upbeat tune that's really positive and uplifting just what the doctor ordered on such a bleak day! Happy by The Daylights, which isn't so happy ... but it's meaningful and expresses someones deep love for someone else. I think it's a gorgeous little look at the love someone can have for another 'You know I'm made to be with you'. And lastly but by no mean least is my new absolute favourite song which was used in the Coda of last nights episode and it's a song called We Did It When We Were Young by The Gaslight Anthem. It's just so relevant to my life so much at the moment. I'm really struggling with the transition between my old life and being an adult and i think this song paints a perfect picture of what I'm feeling and no doubt so many other people have felt or are also feeling right now. The band has a great sound and fantastic voices and the song just talks about how different people feel when they are older to how fearless they were in their younger years. I miss that, and this songs helps me remember it. It also questions why are we not as passionate as we used to be when we get older. It's a great song full of hope and sadness at the same time and that is why I love it.

So yeah if you love music and feel as passionate about it as you know I do i really recommend One Tree Hill to you. It is full of amazing artists and bands and songs and it's the kind of music that matters and draws on real emotions. The kind of music that in it's core is full of hope and power. We could all do with a bit of hope from time to time ...
