Who I'm Loving: Wakey!Wakey!

I cannot get over how amazingly talented this man is. Michael Grubs, front man of the band Wakey!Wakey! (Who also happens to play ‘Grubs’ the newest bartender of Tric in my favourite program; One Tree Hill) has an absolutely fantastic voice and is amazing on the piano, want proof? Check out the piano intro to the single ‘Brooklyn’.

Wakey!Wakey! released their first full length album ‘Almost everything I wish I’d said the last time I saw you’ on the 2nd of February 2010 and prior to that they had released the ‘War Sweater – EP’ War Sweater was the first song of theirs I had ever heard and it was fantastic! The skill involved in the making of their music is phenomenal, such a passionate strong voice mixed with mad piano skills = a fantastic EP which ensured the release of an even better album. The piano pop/rock bands album is fantastic but my favourite tracks are: Car Crash, Almost Everything, Light Outside, Brooklyn and the headline track from their EP War Sweater. Their lyrics really open up your eyes and make you think and in my opinion that is the best kind of music, the kind that makes you think, the kind that gives you passion and drive. His piano playing is so dramatic and it's the kind you could get lost in. I can only imagine what it would be like to hear him play live ...

Want more piano in your life? Want an artist who is passionate and whose songs are full of meaning? Then this is the band for you! Check them out on iTunes.
